House fire, Casselwood Drive
(August 17, 2020) – Firefighters responded to a reported house fire in the 3300 block of Casselwood Drive early this evening. On arrival firefighters found smoke pushing from the eaves of the house. Firefighters made entry into the house but were having some difficulty finding the fire. They persisted, and like a juggernaut in a Call of Duty episode, pursued their quarry and were successful in extinguishing the fire moments later. The fire was under control in approximately 8 minutes. The occupant of the house was home at the time of the fire and was able to evacuate without incident. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters were assisted by FWPD, TRAA, NIPSCO, AEP and NCE.
