On August 10, 2020, at 0019 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 700 block of West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 0111 hours
Firefighters arrived to find a large fire in a second-floor living space that extended to the exterior rear of the building. Crews entered to search for victims and extinguish the fire. Salvage of the property and overhaul work in damaged areas required several crews working for 3 to 4 hours.
Occupants of the house self-evacuated before the department’s arrival. One occupant, however, and one Firefighter were treated at the scene by Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
The cause was determined to be electrical.
