House fire, Edgeknoll Lane
(July 29, 2020) – On July 30, 2020, at 6:33 pm, Fort Wayne Fire Department crews arrived in the 200 block of Edgeknoll Lane to find smoke and fire coming from a one-story house. A two-car detached garage was also involved in the fire. All occupants were out of the house prior to our arrival. Several crews attacked the fire from the interior while the truck companies ventilated the roof. Other crews were assigned to the garage fire. After an extended period of fire attack and several crews switching out due to exhaustion. The fire was under control in just over an hour. Several hours of overhaul were needed to completely extinguish all the hidden fires. FWFD was assisted by TRAA, FWPD, NCE, AEP and NIPSCO.
