On June 1, 2020, at 1721 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 500 block of Pierce Avenue in reference to a reported shooting with a possible juvenile victim.

Details/Summary:
On June 1, 2020 just before 5:30 PM Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 500 Blk of Pierce Ave in reference to a reported shooting with the victim possibly a juvenile.
Upon Officers arrival they located a juvenile male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Initially the victim was listed with Life Threatening Injuries. A short time later Paramedics arrived on scene and the victim was pronounced deceased.
At this point Detectives from the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Division along with Crime Scene Technicians were paged to the scene. Detectives arrived on scene and began to speak with any possible witnesses that may have seen or heard anything that may assist them in determining what took place earlier. Crime Scene Technicians arrived on scene and began to process the scene attempting to locate any possible evidence that assist in this investigation as well.
The Identity of he victim will be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Agencies assisting in this investigation are the Fort Wayne Fire Department and the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
