
On May 31, 2020, at 1953 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department’s Water Rescue and Recovery Team was dispatched to the area of Fairfield and Gerke Avenues on the report of a person falling into the St. Marys River.
Time of Alarm: 1953 hours
On Scene: 1958 hours
Under Control: 2010 hours
The first units to arrive started water rescue operations. Crews launched a raft into the river and were able to locate and remove the adult victim in 12 minutes. The Three Rivers Ambulance Authority transported the patient to a local hospital.
