FWPD: Barricaded Subject, 4200 block Weisser Park Avenue

On April 6, 2020, at 0657 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4200 block of Weisser Park Avenue regarding a male involved in a domestic situation.

Suspect Arrested: Tyrone A White Jr M/B/38 DOB 07-01-1981

Preliminary Charge:

  1. Unlawful Possession of a Handgun by a Serious Violent Felon – Warrant

Details/Summary:

Officers were called to 4200 Weisser Park Ave regarding a male involved in a domestic situation. Tyrone White was said to be armed at the home and having mental health issues. Occupants of the home were able to leave but the subject would not answer calls from police nor would he exit the home. The White did have a warrant for his arrest for Serious Violent Felon in Possession of a Handgun. Emergency Services was deployed along with Negotiators and Drone units. Multiple calls went unanswered. Distraction devices were then used and shortly after the suspect surrendered without incident. He was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail on the outstanding warrant.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
