Baldwin Creek Apartments fire
(March 21, 2020) – Fort Wayne Fire Department units were dispatched to a reported apartment on fire at Baldwin Creek Apartments. Units arrived on scene finding black smoke and flames showing from a first floor apartment’s windows. Crews made entry to extinguish the fire and search for any victims. Crews cleared multiple apartments of occupants and evacuated half the building. Smoke filled the hallways and fire crews worked to ventilate the smoke after fire was brought under control. All occupants made it out of the building without injuries. Fire Investigators are on scene and exact cause is unknown at this time with incident still under investigation. Fire originated in a bedroom and spread through-out the apartment. TRAA, FWPD, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, NIPSCO, and AEP all assisted on scene.
