On October 25, 2019, at 1448 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 7700 block of Weymouth Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 1450 hours
Under Control: 1513 hours
Firefighters arrived and found heavy fire in the rear of the structure and through the roof. Crews advanced hand lines to the interior of the structure for fire control and extinguishment. The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes.
Two occupants were home at the time of the fire and self evacuated. Both sustained minor injuries and were transported by TRAA paramedics to a local hospital for treatment. The home owner also had eight cats, four perished in the fire.
The cause is still under investigation.
