On June 8, 2019, at 0039 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire in the Preston Pointe Apartments at 7978 Winston Lane, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0039 hours
On Scene: 0045 hours
Under Control: 0051 hours
The first firefighters on the scene arrived and could see a fire burning through the open front door in the kitchen. The crew pulled a line to extinguish the fire while other crews that arrived checked adjoining apartments and evacuated them. The fire was under control in 6 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
Occupants were alerted by smoke detectors and safely self-evacuated before the department’s arrival.
