Lake Avenue Death Investigation
Date: April 9, 2019
Time: 6:20 pm
Location: 1700 Block of Lake Avenue
Victim: Adult Male (Deceased)
Suspect: None at this time
Details:
On April 9, 2019 shortly before 6:30 pm Officers responded to the 1700 Block of Lake Avenue just West of Anthony Blvd in reference to a reported shooting.
Officers were advised that witnesses had heard multiple gunshots and had observed a male subject being shot in front of the business and then saw several subjects running from the scene.
Upon Officers arrival on scene they located an adult male on the ground in front of a business suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics and Fire Personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased
Detectives and Crime Scene were both paged to the scene and upon their arrival Detectives began to canvass the area and speak with multiple witnesses as what they had seen or heard. Detectives were also attempting to locate any possible businesses or homes nearby with surveillance cameras that would possibly assist them in their investigation. Crime Scene Technicians arrived and began to process the scene looking for any evidence as well to assist in this investigation.

The Identity of the victim as well as the manner of Death will be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Assisting in this Investigation was the Fort Wayne Fire Department and the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
