On February 24, 2019, at 0331 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department were dispatched to the St. Marys River at Broadway and West Rudisill Boulevard for a car in the river.
Time of Alarm: 0331 hours
On Scene: 0332 hours
Under Control: 0709 hours
Upon arrival Fort Wayne Police officers and Firefighters located the entry point for the car’s entry into the river. The car was then located about 100 yards downstream, completely submerged. Due to the conditions, it was determined not to be safe for divers to enter the water. A wrecker from Parker Towing and Recovery brought the car to shore. It was then discovered that one victim was still inside the vehicle.
