On January 9, 2019, at 0714 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the U-Stor Self-Storage facility at 826 East Tillman Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 0756 hours
Upon arrival, crews found one of the storage buildings with heavy fire and smoke coming from it. Crews from several different city stations were able to make an aggressive attack on the fire which kept it from spreading to other structures located near by. The crews also had to deal with moderate winds along with snow and ice making for slick conditions on the streets and at the fire scene. The fire was placed under control in about 45 minutes.
There was heavy fire water and smoke damage to the structure and everything in the storage units were a complete loss. Heavy equipment will be brought in to assist in the clean up and help firefighters get to hot spots. Crew will remain on scene most of the day.
No injuries have be reported and this fire remains under investigation.
