House Fire, Englewood Court
(September 20, 2018) – Fort Wayne Fire Department units responded to a call concerning smoke coming from a home in the 400 block of Englewood. Upon arrival, crews found smoke pushing from an open window. Firefighters forced their way into the home to find a fire located on the first floor of the single-family home and heavy smoke throughout. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and began to search for any occupants that might be inside. Two dogs were located, but unfortunately had expired due to the smoke.
No other occupants were home at the time. No other injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants.
Additionally, Fort Wayne Firefighters were assisted by AEP, NIPSCO, NCE, FWPD and TRAA.
