Shooting Investigation
Date/Time of Incident: 10/04/2016 @ 12:05 AM
Location of Incident: 2700 block of Fox Avenue
Victim: Male Adult Critical Condition
On Tuesday October 4, 2016 at approximately 12:05 AM officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2700 block of Fox Avenue in reference to a report of shots fired in the area. As officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they located an adult male laying outside near the street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics provided medical treatment to the victim before transporting him to a local hospital where he was initially listed in serious condition before being downgraded to critical condition.
Witnesses told investigators that they heard multiple gunshots and observed two or three males running from the area. Investigators believe that there was some type of disturbance between several individuals at a residence located in the 2700 block of Fox Avenue before the shooting. Investigators spoke with neighbors in the area in an attempt to collect additional information. Anyone who may have information is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
The name of the victim is being withheld at this time. There is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
