Update from the Fort Wayne Police Department concerning the Texas Roadhouse shootings, news release is included below the update.
(August 15, 2016 at 11:28 a.m.) – Fort Wayne Police Department detectives have made an arrest in the Texas Roadhouse investigation.
Andrew Mac Cassaday White male, aged 29, Fort Wayne
- Possession Firearm without a License
- Aggravated Battery
Cassaday has been identified as the shooter in the Texas Roadhouse investigation that led to the death of the victim.

Details:
On August 14, 2016, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a male shot in the parking lot of 710 West Washington Center Road. Officers arrived and located an adult male, who was pronounced deceased by paramedics. Officers were then notified of a second adult male that was privately transported to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds, and that male remains in critical condition.
Initial reports indicate a verbal argument ensued between two groups of males inside the restaurant, and continued to the parking lot. The argument soon turned into a physical fight, which led to at least one gunshot being fired and an adult male being struck. That victim was quickly loaded into a vehicle by friends who were going to drive the male to the hospital, and the other group walked away. As the vehicle was leaving the scene, they drove around the building and again encountered the rival group, at which point someone from inside the vehicle shot at that group and an adult male was struck, and was later pronounced deceased on the scene. That vehicle then continued to the hospital where that male remains in critical condition.
The occupants of that vehicle are currently being interviewed by police. It is unknown if there are any outstanding participants/suspects at this time. It is also unknown exactly what led up to the disturbance; that will be pieced together by detectives, who are currently interviewing those involved as well as any witnesses. Crime scene personnel are searching for and collecting any evidence. It is also unknown at this time if gang activity had any role or not.

The identity of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
