News release from the TinCaps:
Zunica Doubles Twice for TinCaps
Captains Sweep Series with 3-0 Triumph
EASTLAKE, Ohio (July 3, 2016) – The TinCaps fell to the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians), 3-0, on Sunday night at Classic Park.
Lake County (6-5, 46-35) scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the seventh inning as catcher Sicnarf Loopstock hit a two-run double and a third run scored on an error.
Fort Wayne (4-7, 40-41) starter Thomas Dorminy (L, 1-2) held the Captains off the board for six innings before encountering trouble in the fateful seventh.
Meanwhile, Shao-Ching Chiang (W, 5-6) blanked the TinCaps for seven. Kieran Lovegrove pitched a scoreless eighth and Yoiber Marquina (S, 7) worked a flawless ninth.
First baseman Brad Zunica had two of Fort Wayne’s five hits — both were doubles. The TinCaps had two runners thrown out at the plate — one in the sixth, controversially, and another in the seventh.
