News release from INDOT:
Traffic Switch Planned for S.R. 1 Bridge over Deptmer Ditch in Allen County on Tuesday, June 21
Bridge still reduced to single lane traffic controlled by temporary signal
(June 16, 2016) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that a traffic shift is scheduled for S.R. 1 over Deptmer Ditch on Tuesday, June 21, weather permitting. Work will continue on the bridge deck rehabilitation between Yoder and Hamilton roads near the community of Yoder.
Motorists can expect traffic to be switched to the newly constructed northbound lanes while contractors complete work on the southbound lanes. A temporary traffic signal will continue to alternate vehicles over the single-lane bridge.
A 45 mph speed limit will be strictly enforced. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.
Restrictions on the S.R. 1 bridge over Deptmer Ditch will remain through late August. The bridge is being rehabilitated in conjunction with the S.R. 9 bridge over Stony Creek in Whitley County, which was completed earlier this spring. The combined contract was awarded to R.L. McCoy for $1.68 million.
