Storytime on the Bridge Kicks Off Monday
(June 16, 2016) – This coming Monday, June 20, Riverfront Fort Wayne and the Allen County Public Library are kicking off a weekly summer family Storytime on the Bridge.
Storytime on the Bridge will offer kids of all ages songs, great stories, silly rhymes and lots of smiles on the Historic Wells Street Bridge. Story time begins at 10:30 a.m. and lasts until 11 a.m. Families are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs.
If the weather is stormy or rain is threatening, story time will be held in the Children’s Services Department at the Main Library downtown. There will be no story time on July 4. Storytime on the Bridge is free and open to the public and will continue through August 29.
Riverfront Fort Wayne hosts regular programs and events as part of a three-part effort to build support for revitalizing the downtown riverfront. Programming, maintenance and development are all part of efforts to create a downtown riverfront that is a regional destination and source of pride for all of northeast Indiana. Partners in Riverfront Fort Wayne include the City of Fort Wayne, the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne and the Capital Improvement Board.
