News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
Apartment Fire, Greentree Court
(May 24, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire at 1833 Greentree Court in the Chapel Oaks Apartments. FWFD arrived on scene and found heavy smoke coming from two windows in a center apartment. Crews made a quick interior attack and located the fire in the kitchen on the first floor. Fire and smoke damage was contained to the apartment of origin and did not spread to adjacent apartments.
One Firefighter received minor burns as a result of this fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by FWFD with the assistance of FWPD.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by TRAA, NCE, AEP and NIPSCO.
