Fatal Shooting Investigation

Details:
On Wednesday, 5/18/2016, at approximately 11:16 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 9100 block of Brickshire Parkway reference a shooting. A resident in the area heard gunshots and called the police. Officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle parked on the street in the area. Inside the vehicle officers located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Paramedics transported both victims to a local hospital. A juvenile/male was transported in critical condition and an adult/male was transported in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, the juvenile victim was pronounced deceased by a physician. The adult victim remains in serious condition.
Preliminary information indicates the two victims, the suspect, and a witness that was not injured were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. The suspect fired gunshots inside the vehicle injuring the two victims. The suspect exited the vehicle and was last seen running eastbound from the scene. A police K-9 attempted a track and was unsuccessful in locating the suspect. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male/black, thin build, approximately 5’10” tall.
Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene and collecting evidence. Detectives are currently interviewing the witness and the second victim in an attempt to gather additional details regarding this investigation. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
