First-ever Forester High School Film Festival receives over 700 submissions

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (April 15, 2016) — Huntington University is hosting its first-ever Forester High School Film Festival this spring. The festival is a part of the larger Forester Film Festival, a yearly screening and gallery event put on by the digital media arts department. The festival reached its submission deadline and received over 700 submissions.
“We couldn’t be happier with the overwhelming response we’ve received to our first high school film festival,” said Nathan Hartman, director of the Forester High School Film Festival and digital media arts studio supervisor. “It will be a challenge to choose a winner for our three categories, but an exciting one for sure.”
With this festival, the digital media arts department attempts to connect with creative high school students who desire feedback on their work from industry professionals and are looking into continuing their education in either film, animation or broadcasting, which are the three submission categories.
Winners of the Forester High School Film Festival will receive the “Forester Excellence Award” and are VIPs to the Forster Film Festival black-tie screening event and reception on May 6. Winners also will receive feedback on their work from professionals and may have their work screened at the reception.
