5th Annual “The BIG Event” Sends 500+ Volunteers to Help Fort Wayne Non-Profits
(April 15, 2016) — Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will send over 500 students, faculty, staff, and alumni volunteers into the Fort Wayne community on Saturday, April 16, for the 5th annual The BIG Event.
The volunteers will help over 50 non-profit agencies with everything from filing and office work to painting, landscaping, and small-scale renovation projects.
The BIG Event is the largest one-day, student-led service project in the nation and has expanded to over 75 universities across the country. IPFW brought The BIG Event to Indiana for the first time on Saturday, March 24, 2012.
