Career Connections Week Kicks off March 28 at IPFW
(March 24, 2016) — Career Connections Week, an entire week dedicated to career-focused events for students, kicks off March 28 at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). The week begins with the Reverse Career Fair and culminates with an Immersion Excursion experience for students at Sweetwater Sound.
“Career Connections Week is an opportunity for IPFW Career Services to highlight the myriad of programs and opportunities for students, especially as students look for jobs post-graduation, summer internships, and additional career development opportunities,” said Ashley Calderon, director of IPFW Career Services.
Career Connections Week activities include:
- Monday, March 28: IPFW Reverse Career Fair. At the Reverse Career Fair, students set up the booths and employers approach the tables. The career fair will kick off IPFW Career Connections Week Monday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Walb Union Classic Ballroom.
- Tuesday, March 29: Technology and Healthcare Industry Career Fair. This industry specific career fair event, taking place from noon to 3 p.m. in the Walb Classic Ballroom, will highlight jobs in the tech and healthcare sectors.
- Wednesday, March 30: Mastodon Career Call Webinar. “What Recruiters Look for on Résumés,” presented by Amanda Davis from Lincoln Financial Group. Noon to 1 p.m. Join the Career Call webinar and register here.
- Thursday, March 31: Business, Government, and Non-Profit Industry Career Fair. Jobs in these sectors will be featured in a special career fair event in the Walb Classic Ballroom from noon to 3 p.m.
- Friday, April 1: Immersion Excursion to Sweetwater Sound. Students and faculty get the inside scoop from area businesses as they spend time with employees and learn firsthand about careers in that organization. Register to attend at JobZone.
