News release from Ivy Tech Community College Northeast:
Ivy Tech Northeast staff receives gold at national conference and marketing awards
(March 21, 2016) – The marketing and communications staff at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast received a gold Paragon award at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations’ national conference earlier this month in St. Louis. The council is the national professional organization for community and technical college marketing and public relations professionals.
Two-year colleges from across the country entered their best work in 53 categories, and Ivy Tech Northeast received a gold in the Social Media or Online Marketing Campaign category, for its work on Show Me the Scholarship!, a project that invited students to create a brief, light-hearted video about why they chose Ivy Tech Northeast. Three finalists’ videos were shared on social media, and the College and local community voted for their favorite video. Each of the three finalists received a scholarship from the Ivy Tech Foundation for the following semester of classes ($3,000 for first, $2,000 for second, and $1,000 for third place), based on final vote count.
This is Ivy Tech Northeast’s first gold Paragon award since 1997. Last year, the staff won a silver Paragon for feature writing, for its coverage on a graphic novel that the College’s visual communications students designed and wrote.
