News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 5400 block South Calhoun Street
The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 5402 S. Calhoun St upon arrival firefighters found minor smoke coming from the house. The occupant of the home along with the family dog self evacuated the house before the Fire Department’s arrival. Firefighters made an interior attack on a small fire in the front bedroom and hallway of the house and had the fire under control in about 3 to 4 minutes after arrival.
There was minor fire, smoke, and water damage to the house. No injuries were reported and this fire remains under investigation.
Assisting at the scene was the FWPD and TRAA.
