News release from Fort Wayne City Utilities:

Looking to the Future: “Once in a Lifetime” Tunnel Project to Serve Multiple Generations

(February 19, 2016) – Fort Wayne City Utilities will host three public forums to share information with residents about the upcoming Deep Rock Tunnel. The tunnel is part of the Long Term Control Plan to reduce combined sewer over flows into our rivers.

The free events are open to anyone in the community and will allow attendees to interact with displays and hands-on activities, view a short presentation and have an opportunity to talk with tunnel design and construction experts.

Three community forums are scheduled as shown below:

  • Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
    Unitarian Church
    5310 Old Mill Road
  • Monday, March 7, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
    Allen County Public Library Main Branch – Auditorium
    900 Library Plaza Fort Wayne, IN
  • Monday, March 14, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
    University of Saint Francis — Gunderson Auditorium in Achatz Hall
    2701 Spring Street, Fort Wayne, IN
    Enter from Leesburg Road and follow the drive to Achatz Hall

This project will be a major improvement for our community that will protect neighborhoods, clean up our rivers and support the City for generations to come.
