Indiana Master Naturalist Program registration deadline
(February 1, 2016) – Openings are still available for anyone interested in registering for the 2016 Indiana Master Naturalist Program. The deadline for registration is February 12th. This is an extremely popular learning opportunity brings together natural resource specialists with adult (18 years and older) learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils and wildlife and promote volunteer service in local communities.
The program is hosted locally by the Allen County Parks Department, and the Fox Island Alliance. Participants must attend at least 10 of the 12 class sessions, complete a final exam, and complete 30+ volunteer hours to obtain Indiana Master Naturalist Certification and a pin.
The orientation class is February 23rd and the classes run through May 30th on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Class size is limited to 30 applicants. Space is reserved on a first-come first-served basis; and space will be reserved only when the $95.00 registration fee is paid.
Applications may be picked up at Fox Island and Metea County Parks Nature Centers. Applications are also available for download on the Allen County Parks website at www.allencountyparks.org under the Indiana Master Naturalist 2016 page.
