FWPD: Walgreens robbery
Fort Wayne Police detectives are asking the public’s help in identifying the robbery suspect captured in the attached surveillance video.
On Thursday, January 14th 9:35 p.m. the suspect entered the Walgreens located at 222 E. Pettit and robbed the store.
Anyone with information leading to the identification of this suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).

I, Officer R. Geiger was dispatched to 222 E. Pettit (Walgreens) in reference to an armed robbery by a male black suspect. Upon my arrival I was advised by dispatch the suspect had already left the scene. The male was
described as a male black, 6 ft-, 200+lbs, black jacket, white shirt, dark pants, white shoes, thick dreadlocks.########## was the clerk at the front register at the time. ##### advised she was doing some cleaning when a male black came up to the register to purchase items. The male was on his cell phone and asked for cigars, and
cigarettes. The male stayed on his phone while picking the items. The male then left the counter area to grab a 6 pack of Steel Reserve beer.The male then returns to the counter, and passes a note to ######. The note advised that this was a robbery, and to give him everything or he would kill her. ####### didn’t take the note seriously she said. ###### then went on to advise the male placed his hand in his pocket like he was armed. ##### advised when she told the male no he simply grabbed his items to leave.
According to the video:
The male entered the store around 2124 hours walks through part of the store, and comes up to the counter around 2126. The male chooses cigars, and cigarettes. The male then leaves the counter to return around 2129. The male is at the counter for just a minute, and is out of the store by 2130 hours.
######### was very upset, and scared when I spoke to her in the office. ####### advised she could identify the male if needed. Detectives were contacted, and made the scene. Det. Crapser, and Anglin arrived and viewed the footage as well. Dets were in the process of trying to gather a picture and footage before I was advised I could clear to complete my report. I then left, and went to type my report.
