News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 4500 Colonial Avenue
(January 24, 2015) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to the 4500 block of South Colonial Avenue on a reported house fire 3:46 a.m. on January 24, 2016. While units were in route to the home it was reported that one person may be trapped inside the structure.
When fire crews arrived two adults and one child had escaped and were across the street inside a neighbor’s home. The home had heavy fire involvement. Fire crews searched the structure and found no one else to be in the home. The 2 adults and 1 child were transported to the hospital and were reported to be in fair condition. It took crews 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assessed by the Fort Wayne Police Department, AEP, NIPSCO and Neighborhood Code.
