Critical Shooting Investigation

Victim: Adult Male, Critical Condition
Details:
On Saturday, 01/23/2016, at approximately 2:06 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to 1407 South Calhoun Street, Rabbit’s Gentleman’s Club, reference an armed subject firing gunshots. Another caller informed dispatch there was a shooting victim inside the club. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim inside the club. The adult/male victim was conscious and alert when officers located him. It appeared the victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his groin area.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim was downgraded to critical condition by a physician.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was standing near the club’s entry/exit door when he was shot. It is unknown at this time if the shooting suspect was standing inside or outside the club when he fired the gunshots. Witnesses reported the suspect was a male/black that fled the scene eastbound on Brackenridge Street and then southbound on Clinton Street in a dark colored vehicle.
Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene and collecting evidence. Detectives are currently interviewing potential witnesses in an attempt to gather additional details regarding this investigation. Detectives hope to have more information once they are able to interview the victim and review the club’s surveillance video. No arrests have been made and there are no suspects at this time. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
