Person Down, Critical Injury

Victim: Adult Female, Critical Condition
Details:
On December 27th, 2015 at approximately 5:45 AM Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a call of a person down in the roadway off 3700 Paulding Rd. in the Waterloo Gardens apartment complex. Multiple callers called city Dispatch advising that there was a body laying in the middle of the roadway. Upon arrival Officers located an adult female laying in the roadway in critical condition.
The adult female was taken to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The victim has been identified and contact attempted at her residence to help determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time it is unknown the cause and manner that precipitated the victim being in the roadway in critical condition. It is unknown if foul play is expected until further medical evaluation can be completed. The scene, however, is still being processed to preserve any potential evidence that may be needed at a later date if criminal activity is suspected.
