“This is new for us,” TinCaps President Mike Nutter said of putting tickets for Opening Day on sale around the holidays. “But it’s something fans have asked for, so we’re happy to provide it. Baseball may seem like a long way off with temperatures dropping and snow on the ground, but we’re already planning for next year and can’t wait for our best season yet.”
Opening Day for the TinCaps is scheduled for Saturday, April 9, at 6:05 p.m. against the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians).
Tickets for Opening Day will remain on sale through December 31. Tickets for the remainder of the 2016 TinCaps schedule will go on sale in February. Meanwhile, season ticket packages are already on sale now. Fans interested in season tickets should call 260-482-6400.
In 2015, the TinCaps drew more than 400,000 fans for a third consecutive year and set an attendance record by averaging 5,971 fans per game. Last season the club extended the longest active playoff streak in Minor League Baseball to seven years, while garnering multiple national honors for organizational excellence.
On top of a new season in itself, fans can also look forward to a new addition at Parkview Field in 2016, The Summit, presented by Tuthill.
