News release from Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control:
Adopt. Don’t shop. Black Friday deal opens the Adoption door at Animal Care & Control
(November 24, 2015) – Animal Care & Control is urging savvy shoppers to ADOPT, NOT SHOP on Black Friday. In honor of this “door busting holiday”, Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control will open our adoption facility from 11am-3pm, Friday, November 28th and offer every available animal for a $10 adoption fee.
$10 special Adoption Fee for cats & dogs includes:
- First series distemper vaccine
- Microchip
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Donated health exam from an area veterinarian
- Small bag of food to get you and your pet started
Small animals will also be available for a $10 adoption fee: rabbits, guinea pigs, birds (all animals are subject to availability on Black Friday)
Our adoptions are first come first serve so we encourage adopters to arrive early. In order to be adopt ready we are asking potential forever families to do the following so that they can take their new family member home right away:
- Bring your CURRENT pets rabies and distemper records (cats, dogs & ferrets/rabies only)
- If you have pets at home we will require that your dog(s) MEET the potential adoption dog so please come early so you can meet the animal and your dog can also meet their new friend!
- Bring in your ENTIRE family. Children 5 years of age and under will be required to meet the potential adoption animal – if a spouse is unable to be in attendance we will need to contact him/her to be sure everyone is on board before the animal in question will be able to go home!
- If you are adopting a cat, no animal interactions will be required, but if you have pets at home, providing us with current vet records will still be required.
Adoption IS the best option. Sneak Peak of the animals available for adoption will be posted on Wednesday evening on FWACC’s Facebook, twitter & Instagram pages!
