Update from the Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana:
U Can Crush Hunger food drive tabulation as of yesterday
(October 28, 2015) – Competition is really heating up in our U Can Crush Hunger food drive! We have collected 19,407 pounds of food up to this point in the competition. We will be including Huntington in the final total, as barrels were unavailable for weigh in today. Totals for the individual schools are as follows:
- 1st Place with 7,997 Pounds of Food: University of Saint Francis
- 2nd Place with 7,982 Pounds of Food: Indiana Tech
- 3rd Place with 1,465 Pounds of Food: IPFW
- 4th Place with 1,055 Pounds of Food: Ivy Tech Community College
- 5th Place with 908 Pounds of Food: Huntington University
The goal of U Can Crush Hunger is to collect 100,000 pounds of food. Every dollar donated is equivalent to 3 pounds of food. All food and cash donated supports Community Harvest and its 385 member agencies in northeast Indiana.
The next report will be made available on Monday, November 2. The five school food drive ends Saturday, October 31.
