USF preparing Planetarium Fall Weekend
(October 14, 2015) — The Edwin Clark Schouweiler Memorial Planetarium at the University of Saint Francis announces its 2015 Planetarium Fall Weekend. Three different planetarium shows will be offered October 23-25.
Friday, October 23, 7:30 p.m.
Aurora (90 minutes, appropriate for 5th grade-adults)
Discover the secrets of the northern and southern lights, as an unraveling historical mystery voyage of scientific discovery while experiencing the Aurora Borealis and learn about the forces of nature that create the Aurora.Saturday, October 24, 3:30 p.m.
Family Matinee – A Solar System Adventure Tour (90 minutes, appropriate for grades 2-4 and accompanying adults)
An interactive tour of the Solar System, where audience members help with the operation of the space ship.Saturday, October 24, 7:30 p.m.

Family Matinee – Larry Cat in Space (75 minutes, appropriate for grades K-5 and accompanying adults)
A playful and imaginative cartoon about an inquisitive cat who takes a trip to the moon. Along the way you will learn some things about the moon.
All programs consist of a multimedia show and a tour of the October night sky with take home star chart. Early arrivals following ticket purchase will see an informal pre-show in the USF Gunderson Auditorium. The pre-show includes an update with the latest images from the New Horizons spacecraft, which flew by dwarf planet Pluto on July 14.
Admission is $4 for adults, and $3 for senior citizens and children under 18. The maximum charge is $14 per family. An additional $1 discount will be given to Fort Wayne Astronomical Society members and visitors with Three Rivers Festival buttons. Tickets are purchased at the door.
