Over 150 Employers to Attend IPFW Mastodon Job and Internship Fair
(September 21, 2015) — Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Career Services will host their annual Mastodon Job and Internship Fair tomorrow, September 22, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Athletics Center Fieldhouse. Over 150 local and national employers will be present, offering full-time and part-time positions, along with internship opportunities. The job and internship fair is open to students and alumni, as well as community members, at no charge. This is the largest career fair in northeast Indiana this fall.
New this year, Career Services is proud to introduce the new IPFW Career Fair Plus App, available on Google Play and the iTunes app store. The Career Fair Plus app will empower students and provide them with up-to-date information.
“Using the Career Fair Plus App, students and alumni will be able to craft their career fair strategy by researching the 150+ companies, navigate the floor plan in the fieldhouse, and prepare for the event with the Career Fair 101 resources,” said Ashley Calderon, director of IPFW Career Services.
An employer workshop designed to help companies understand how to retain and encourage Millennials will be offered before the career fair from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Athletics Center Fieldhouse. The session is titled “Mattering, Motivation, and Transitions: A Recipe for Millennial Success” with presenters Jonathan Ray, president/CEO, Fort Wayne Urban League; John Garcia, general manager, Summit City Chevrolet; George McClellan, vice chancellor for student affairs, IPFW; and Ken Christmon, associate vice chancellor for diversity and multicultural affairs, IPFW.
