News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 4902 Plaza Drive
The Fort Wayne Fire Dept. responded to a reported house fire at 4902 Plaza Drive upon arrival firefighters found moderate smoke coming from the house. The occupants of the home had self evacuated along with the family pet before Fire Dept. arrival. Firefighters made an interior attack on a fire in the basement and had the fire under control in about 7 minutes after arrival.
There was minor fire, smoke, and water damage to the house. No injuries were reported and this fire remains under investigation.
The Red Cross made the scene to assist the family. Also assisting at the scene was N.E.C., TRAA, FWPD, NIPSCO, AEP.
