Sears at Glenbrook Square no longer a bulb recycling drop-off location
(September 15, 2015) – The Allen County Solid Waste Management District is no longer utilizing Sears at Glenbrook Square as a light bulb recycling drop-off site. Allen County residents should use the following District Partnership locations during their normal business hours:

2413 Lower Huntington Rd, WaynedaleAccording to Allen County Solid Waste District Director Tony Burrus, Sears was the first residential bulb recycling partner location. “We’re very appreciative of their years of service with our program,” says Burrus. “Staffing changes at the store made the continuation of the service not practical for the site. We extend our thanks to Sears for their commitment to our community and environment.”
Fluorescent light bulbs contain a pen tip amount of mercury, a nerve toxin that affects the way an individual functions. Broken fluorescent bulbs can release mercury in landfills and contaminate the air we breathe, as well as poison our waterways and the foods we eat.
