Fort Wayne, Spiece Fieldhouse to Host USAPA Pickleball Regional Tournament
(August 11, 2015) – Pickleball is a combination of tennis, ping pong and badminton. It’s one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, and it’s coming back to Fort Wayne.
The 2015 USAPA Pickleball Great Lakes Regional Tournament returns to Spiece Fieldhouse from August 14-16. The Fort Wayne Pickleball Association will serve as tournament hosts.
The second-year regional championship welcomes competitors from 22 states to compete in a round-robin tournament format, featuring Men’s Singles and Doubles, Women’s Singles and Doubles, Junior Men’s and Men’s and Mixed Doubles categories.
More than 265 players will compete in Fort Wayne, generating an estimated $76,750 in economic impact. The tournament is free and open to public.
