News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 642 Anderson Avenue
(July 23, 2015) – FWFD units responded to a reported house fire this evening in the 600 block of Anderson. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from an upstairs bedroom on the front side of the home. 1 adult and 1 child had self evacuated prior to FWFD arrival. Crews were able to make an aggressive interior attack and quickly extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of arrival. One bedroom was heavily damaged.
Investigators determined that the fire was accidental in nature. One adult suffered minor burns. No firefighters were injured.
FWPD, NCE, AEP, NIPSCO and Red Cross assisted at the scene.
