2nd Annual Robotics Camp in Wells County
Campers design and build their own robot while getting to visit manufacturers who utilize applied skills in manufacturing and technology
Wells County will be holding a camp in July, “Robotics Camp – an Introduction to Technology”. The camp will allow students to be interactive building their own guitar or robot, while also getting to view the skills they are learning in the work environment. These one-week programs are part of the Wells County Economic Development initiative of developing a workforce with 21st century skills.
The 2nd Annual Robotics Camp runs from July 27 – 31. It is open to 20 students entering grades seven through ten. Along with building their own robot, campers will get to tour local industries that utilize technology in the production process. The culmination of the camp will be the “Final Bot Challenge,” which will take place on Friday at the Wells County 4-H fairgrounds. Campers will be provided an obstacle course and objective for the robots to complete, utilizing the skills they developed throughout the week. The winning team will be crowned the “Wells-Bot Commander, 2015”. Partners in the camp include Wells County 4-H, the 4-H Foundation, Wells County Community Foundation, IVY Tech, Wells County Economic Development, and Apex Wind Energy.
