FWPD: Single Vehicle Fatal Accident

Time: 7:41 PM
Location: 2400 block of West Jefferson Boulevard
Victim: Adult Male
On July 7th, 2015 at approximately 7:41 pm Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a single vehicle accident involving injury at the 2400 block of W.Jefferson Blvd. Upon Officers arrival the Fort Wayne Fire Department and TRAA were already on the scene providing aid to the injured driver. The driver was a male adult riding a class B cycle (moped) and was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. At approximately 8:35 PM, an officer checked on the condition of the injured driver with hospital staff and were advised that he was still in serious condition.
It is unknown at this time the circumstances surrounding the accident.
A few hours later the driver took a turn for the worst and was pronouced deceased by hospital staff.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fatal, Accident, Crash, Team; The Allen County Prosecutors Office, and The Coroner’s Office.
