Police Action Shooting Update
In accordance with departmental policy, two officers have been placed on paid administrative leave:
- Officer Nicholas Lichtsinn (10) Year Veteran of the Force – Disciplinary History/Commendations
- Officer Ryan Nystuen Commissioned May 28, 2015 – Disciplinary History/Commendations
Officer Lichtsinn was the only officer to discharge his service weapon but due to his close proximity to the event, Officer Nystuen was also placed on paid administrative leave.
The incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Indiana State Police, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s office.
