News release from the Embassy Theatre:

Jersey Boys enjoyed successful run at Embassy Theatre

(May 15, 2015) – Jersey Boys, the musical story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons on stage recently at the Embassy Theatre, drew nearly 11,000 patrons during its unprecedented eight-show run.

“We were very pleased with the number of patrons who came through our doors to see Jersey Boys,” said Kelly Updike, Embassy Theatre executive director. The largest crowds were Friday and Saturday night, with the weekend matinees and opening night doing extremely well. “The success of Jersey Boys in Fort Wayne means the Embassy can now be considered for future extended-run Broadway shows.”

There are no extended runs in the upcoming Broadway 2015-16 season which was announced at the opening night of Jersey Boys. “We needed to see how the community would respond to this show first. We are now talking with our Broadway tour promoter, Jam Theatricals about what extended-run shows might be available for the 2016-17 season,” commented Updike.

The Jersey Boys load-in took a full two days. A time-lapse video of part of that installation is at www.fwembassytheatre.org.

Subscriptions to the Broadway at the Embassy season for 2015-16 which includes The Illusionists, Ragtime, and Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer the Musical, are on sale now. Contact the Embassy box office in person or by phone at 260.424.5665. Individual show tickets will go on sale in the fall.
