Fatal Shooting, 2900 Block Holton Avenue

Fort Wayne police responded to the reported man down call in the 2900 block of Holton Avenue at 10:15 a.m. this morning. Once on scene officers discovered the unresponsive victim in the rear of 2949 Holton Avenue, a vacant property. Medics and fire personnel pronounced the male dead on the scene.
Detectives and crime scene personnel during their inspection of the scene discovered several spent shell casings in close proximity of the body leading investigators to believe that this will be a shooting scene. Just after 3:00 a.m. this morning officers responded to the area of the 3000 block of Reed Street for the report of multiple gunshots heard but found nothing.
The Allen County Coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine an identification of the deceased, a cause and manner of death. This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s office and the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
