CLHS students receive site awards in national math competition
(March 10, 2015) — Six Concordia Lutheran High School received site awards in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC).
This nationwide contest is hosted by the Mathematical Association of America. Sixty CLHS students were selected, and six students placed in their categories. CLHS selected 30 of the top freshmen and sophomores, who competed in the AMC 10, and then also selected 30 juniors and seniors, who competed in the AMC 12.
Those students were:
- 3rd place – freshman Isaac Corbrey
- 2nd place – sophomore Sydney Kemme Nash
- 1st place – freshman Nathan Walz
- 3rd place – senior Lauren Frick
- 2nd place – senior Ethan Ernst
- 1st place – junior Mitchell Scott
“It is a very rigorous test of their mathematical ability,” said Eric Kaschinske, CLHS math teacher.
