Aaron Batt named new TSA Federal Security Director for Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (February 10, 2015) – The Transportation Security Administration has named Aaron Batt as the Federal Security Director (FSD) for the state of Indiana, effective January 26.

In his new position, he is responsible for all commercial airports in Indiana, which includes five federalized airports (IND, FWA, SBN, EVV, GYY), in addition to security responsibilities associated with mass transit, commuter rail, maritime and pipeline issues.

Mr. Batt has been with TSA since its inception and has served in various domestic and international leadership positions. Prior to his appointment as FSD, Mr. Batt served as the Assistant Federal Security Director for Screening at Indianapolis International Airport. Mr. Batt has also served as the TSA Europe Regional Director, Transportation Security Specialist, Supervisory Program Analyst, and Deputy FSD for TSA in northern Indiana.
Prior to joining TSA, Mr. Batt worked in the airline industry and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University with a specialization in Aviation Management.

Mr. Batt is married with two children and is a long-time resident of Indiana, claiming New Castle as his hometown.

The outgoing FSD, David Kane, was named the Executive Director of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security in November 2014.
