4th annual Applied Leadership Series connects, develops regional business leaders
(February 8, 2015) – Northeast Indiana business leaders will come together on March 18?20 for the Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Applied Leadership Series. The event connects area managers seeking to develop their leadership skills with regional business experts to discuss various topics essential to leadership development. Ron Double, Chief Information Officer for Parkview Health, is this year’s keynote speaker and will present on the first day of the series. This event will be held at the Steel Dynamics Keith E. Busse IPFW Alumni Center on the IPFW West Campus. Presentations will start at 8 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m. each day of the series.
IPFW’s Applied Leadership Series, now in its fourth year, is designed to develop the leadership skills of the manager who is energetic, visionary, and moving up. Sessions include presentations on Strategic Leadership and Leading Change, Innovative Thinking, Sales Leadership, Customer Relations, the Financial Impact of Business Strategy, Legal Challenges, Marketing and Leading the Talent Mandate, and Linking Strategy and People. A networking reception, sponsored by the IPFW Division of Continuing Studies in partnership with the IPFW Department of Organizational Leadership and Supervision, will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the first day of the series.
Local companies including Do-It-Best Corp, Fort Wayne Metals, Medical Protective, and Riverside Manufacturing have sent employees over the years. Attendee Andrea Reed of BAE Systems Controls described her experience this way: “WOW! What an amazing leadership learning experience! I have been to so many training and development opportunities that lose my interest within the first few hours. Not this one! I left the facility on Friday wanting to hear more.”
The registration deadline for this year’s three day seminar is Friday, February 27. Registration includes lunch and refreshments each day, all seminar materials, and a personal follow-up 30 days after the event.
