Visiting author reading today
(January 26, 2015) – The University of Saint Francis, Department of English and Foreign Languages, 2701 Spring St., Fort Wayne, will host a reading by Adrian Matejka on February 3, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Student Center.
Adrian Matejka was born in Nuremberg, Germany and grew up in California and Indiana. He is a graduate of Indiana University and the MFA program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His most recent book, The Big Smoke, was awarded the 2014 Anisfield-Wolf Book Award. The Big Smoke was also a finalist for the 2013 National Book Award, the 2014 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, and the 2014 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. Matejka’s work has appeared in American Poetry Review, The Best American Poetry 2010, Gulf Coast, Ploughshares, Poetry, and Prairie Schooner among other journals and anthologies.
The event is free and open to the public. The USF Student Center is behind Trinity Hall on the northwest side of campus. Parking is available in the Trinity Hall parking lot off Spring Street.
