Three year old found in pond
(September 23, 2014) – On 9/23/2014 at approximately 3:00 PM the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 16000 block of Prine Road in Yoder, Indiana in reference to possible drowning. A four year old male and a three year old female were riding in a toy Gator around a pond at the residence when the Gator tipped over into the pond. The male then went for help. Adults at the residence could not locate the female and called emergency services. Fort Wayne Fire Dive and Rescue arrived and searched the pond. The four year old girl was found deceased in the water. This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Natural Resources. Cause and manner of death will be determined by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
